His Royal Highness Prince Georg Friedrich, Prince of Prussia of the House of Hohenzollern announced his engagement to Princess Sophie of Isenburg yesterday.

The Prince is the current head of the House of Hohenzollern and thereby, theoretically, the claimant of the throne of Prussia and Germany. He himself has no ambition for a political role though, so the claim rests. His paternal grandmother was a Romanov, his paternal great-grandfather the last crown prince of Prussia (Wilhelm of Prussia; the other great-grandparents were a Russian grand duke and a Princess of Sachsen-Coburg and Gotha). Princess Sophie (*1978) is a princess in her own right from a line of princes and counts, from the main line of the House of Isenburg. Her grandmother was a Tolstoy, her elder sisters are married to Archduke Martin of Austria-Este and Prince Carl of Wied.

Fitting match.
